Three New York Postal Service employees were charged with mail fraud after they allegedly wrote letters posing as underprivileged children to take advantage of a Christmas charity, according to a criminal complaint unsealed Wednesday in a federal district court in Manhattan. From November 2013 to January 2014, the complaint contends, the workers wrote letters seeking a visit from Santa as a part of the Operation Santa charity, and then made copies of the letters to increase their chances that their requests for iPads, laptops, and bedding would be fulfilled. Terry Jackson, 22, was charged with mail fraud and 23-year-old Mahogany Strickland and Nickyves Saint-Albord, 28, were also charged with receipt of stolen mail.
