Egypt exploded in riots on Sunday, with at least at least 28 people dead and dozens more injured—and police arrested more than 200 members of the Muslim Brotherhood in Cairo. At least one death was reported in Minya, 150 miles south of Cairo, which suggested that demonstrations were taking place across the country. Egyptian authorities had warned about anti-government protests as the country marks the 40th anniversary of the Yom Kippur War. Sunday’s protest also came on the heels of a massive demonstration on Saturday, when 1,000 protesters tried to reach the Rabaa al-Adawiya mosque in northeast Cairo, which had the site of one of the protest camps in August.
