34 people, most of them youths, died during a human stampede at a rap concert in Guinea. There were reportedly 10,000 people at the Guinean rap group Instinct Killers’ concert Tuesday night that was meant to celebrate the end of Ramadan. At least 34 are dead according to a medical official, who added “The oldest among them can't be more than 20. There are young girls among them." Dozens are also injured according to police reports to AFP. The president’s office said it was “shocked by the tragic drama caused by mass movements at a cultural event.” An official in charge of the government body for entertainment has been fired, and a national week of mourning has been declared.
