At least 43 people were killed and dozens wounded Saturday in a bomb blast at a Sufi Muslim shrine in Pakistan. The attack, which took place at the Shah Noorani shrine in Balochistan province, was claimed by the Islamic State. In a statement broadcast by the Aamaq news agency, the group said “thirty five Shiites have been killed and 95 wounded.” The bomb went off when hundreds of worshippers were present, and rescue efforts have been hindered by rough terrain in the area. Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has condemned the attack and urged quick rescue work.
