One of the seven men awaiting trial for orchestrating the 2008 Mumbai attacks, which resulted in 166 casualties, was re-arrested by Pakistan authorities on Tuesday. Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi was set to leave jail after a judge granted him bail on Dec. 18, citing insufficient evidence. The move embarrassed Pakistani leaders who want to keep Lakhvi behind bars. A judge ordered that Lakhvi, who has been jailed for the past six years, should be freed as early as Tuesday, but police charged the suspected mastermind of the attacks with unrelated kidnapping crimes. While Lakhvi remains in jail, Pakistan has failed to convict anyone for the bombings.
