Letting fans in or oversharing? Victoria Kezra looks at stars who aren’t shy about exposing their changes.

Stars used to swear up and down that they were au naturel. Now even the semifamous are exposing all-too-intimate details. Is it a case of letting fans in or oversharing?

Amanda Bynes

The almost-unrecognizable former Nickelodeon star has set social media on fire with her bizarre tweets about everyone from Miley Cyrus to Drake. But perhaps her strangest outpourings have been about her various facial surgeries. She’s announced on Twitter that she had “webbing” removed between her eyes and would be going back to have more work on her nose. She’s been a very vocal proponent for plastic surgery, tweeting “There’s a surgery for everything that’s wrong with you!

Courtney Stodden

Courtney Stodden has never been accused of being private. From her marriage at age 16 to then-51-year-old actor Doug Hutchison to her appearances on reality TV and sexual tweets, the blonde has never shy. Now just 18, Stodden recently had her breasts upped to a size double D. Naturally, the process was videotaped, from her trip to the surgeon’s office to even bits of the actual surgery. Since then, Stodden has been posting updates nonstop about her newly enhanced body. “Check out my new girls in a bikini here :D,” she tweeted.

Farrah Abraham

Teen Mom alum Farrah Abraham doesn’t have very much left to hide after her sex tape with James Deen hit the Internet. People got to see even more of her after she brought cameras with her to chronicle her various surgeries, including her selecting breast implants and getting a nose job and chin implants on the same day.

Heidi Montag

Heidi Montag might be the most extreme example of a plastic-surgery obsession run wild. In 2010, she went under the knife for 10 procedures all done on the same day. Montag appeared in magazines detailing all of her procedures, but in this case time did not make her grow fonder of the alterations. Now she’s equally as public with her regrets about the surgeries. “I kind of wanted a few enhancements and then it kind of got out of hand,” said Montag in an interview with Access Hollywood.

Nicki Minaj

In March, Nicki Minaj revealed her plastic surgery through omission. There has long been speculation about the state of Minaj’s face. She took to Extra to deny rumors that she’d had extensive surgery on her famous mug, which in turn implied that she’d had work done elsewhere with her extra-specific denial.

Bruce Jenner

Being a part of the Kardashian family, name or not, means everything is displayed on TV in full living color. In this case, Olympian Bruce Jenner’s second facelift was a storyline for a Season 3 episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

Kris Jenner

Not to be outdone by her husband, Kris Jenner has also gone under the knife for a facelift in front of the cameras—just before Kim Kardashian’s first wedding. In a more recent episode, she had her breasts redone, filming that process as well. Jenner live-tweeted during the airing of the episode and told the Today show she thought filming the surgery was a great idea.

Ashlee Simpson

For years Ashlee Simpson deflected questions about her nose, but it seems that’s all over. She’s been addressing her new nose in magazines from Us Weekly to Harper’s Bazaar to More. She told Harper’s Bazaar, “It’s a personal choice. I believe if somebody chooses to do plastic surgery, it [should be] for yourself, not for anyone else.”

A.J. McLean

Backstreet’s back ... with hair? A.J. McLean posted the before-and-after of his hair transplant on Instagram. “Some girls get their boobs done some guys get ab implants all to make them happy! This was the one thing I did and I couldn’t be happier,” posted McLean. His new coif will be put to the test when the iconic boy band’s new album is released next month.
