Earlier this week, Bill Clinton commented at the United Auto Workers National Community Action Program Conference that Mitt Romney’s “daddy must be turning over in his grave” over his son’s stance against the government’s bailout of the auto industry. Romney’s wife, Ann, took to Fox News on Friday to respond to the former president’s words. “Mitt’s father would be cheering and would be with Mitt 100 percent,” she insisted. “What Mitt suggested, what’s finally what happened, is that they just went through a structured bankruptcy. It’s exactly what ended up happening. Mitt just said to do that before they spent $17 billion.” Romney’s father was not only a three-term Michigan governor, but was also an American Motors executive.
