Members of Alaska’s African American community say Sarah Palin shut them out of her administration.

On April 29, 2008, 14 leaders of Alaska's black community met with Governor Sarah Palin to voice discontent with her minority hiring record. Palin's alleged response, which was first reported by journalist and blogger Earl Ofari Hutchinson, only compounded her icy relationship with some of her African-American constituents.
