Natalie Portman (Hebrew)

Like Mila Kunis, her co-star in Black Swan, Natalie Portman spent the first few years of her life outside the United States. The Oscar-winning actress was born in Jerusalem—her mother is American and her father, Avner Hershlag is Israeli—and emigrated when she was 3. So when it came time to promote her 2006 film Goya’s Ghosts in Israel, Portman had no trouble conducting an interview in Hebrew. And she clearly loves the language—Portman named her new son Aleph, after the first letter in the Hebrew alphabet.
