Anderson Cooper may have had an epic breakdown on TV, but he’s hardly the first anchor to lose it live.
Oh no, she didn’t: the NBC anchor violated a cardinal rule of reporter conduct—forgetting to turn off her microphone while joking with colleagues. During a tease for a report, Simmons blurted out, “What the f—k are you doing?” as the show was live. She later apologized for the mistake, “I said a word that many people find offensive.” Sure, you can’t see Simmons drop the bomb, but the voice—and enthusiasm—unmistakably belongs to her.
