In this deliciously seedy thriller, Sam Lombardo (Matt Dillon), a high school guidance counselor in Florida, has been accused of rape by two of his students—wealthy high school socialite Kelly Van Ryan (Denise Richards) and pariah Suzie Toller (Neve Campbell), who lives in a trailer by the swamp. When the case goes to trial, Suzie buckles under the pressure and admits that the whole thing was an elaborate ruse orchestrated by her and Kelly, and Lombardo eventually settles with the Van Ryan family to the tune of $8.5 million. In addition to cheeky supporting turns by Bill Murray and penis-flashing Kevin Bacon, the film is best remembered for its hot, champagne-covered ménage a trois between Dillon, Richards, and Campbell, in a dingy motel.
