Many have tried, but none have come close to the Yankee Clipper’s 56-game hitting streak, set in the middle of an MVP and World Series season. Pete Rose in 1978 recorded a 44-game streak, and Jimmy Rollins of the Philadelphia Phillies recorded a 38-game streak over the 2005 and 2006 seasons.
