One of the most painful moments in Season 2 came from Alicia sitting down with Zach (Graham Phillips) and Grace (Makenzie Vega) to tell them that their father had moved out. In Season 3, we’ll see how the Florrick kids are coping with their parents’ separation, and the Kings pointed out some surprises on that front down the line.

“We’ve always been trying to make the kids not what you’d expect of kids, as in their reaction to the scandal that started [the show], but now even to this divorce,” said Robert King. “What Alicia finds is that the kids might be better than she is at adapting ... In many ways, they are gaining more independence, and that’s somewhat good, but also maybe to Alicia not so good sometimes.”
