Punk god Joey Ramone was born Jeffry Hyman, so it’s reasonable to think he might appreciate this Rosh Hashanah parody of “Blitzkrieg Bop” by The Shlomones. Billing themselves as the “world’s greatest Jewish rock band”—though the Beastie Boys and half of KISS might disagree—the Shlomones really crank up the ram’s horn on “Blow Shofar,” turning the iconic “Hey ho, let’s go!” into “Oy oh, let’s blow!” And if you like their sound, these nice Jewish punks have a parody song for Passover—“I Wanna Be Sedated” is transformed into “I’m Goin’ to a Seder!”
