Known for his socially conscious rhymes, rapper Lupe Fiasco stood (or sat, rather) in solidarity with the Wall Street occupiers in September and talked 9/11 conspiracies. “It needs to be investigated thoroughly,” Fiasco said. “It’s not like everything that the government does is bad and, at the same time too, everything that the left does is good, you know. It’s not that type of situation. For me, it’s about critical thinking.” The “American Terrorist” rapper also has shown his support for the movement nationwide, appearing at the Occupy protests in Oakland and in his hometown, Chicago. Between donating supplies and defending the movement against those who call it leaderless and disorganized, Fiasco even found time to write a poem in support of the Occupy movement, part of which read: “Hey Moneyman poor Moneyman you should slip out the back. Cuz the forces of greed are under attack. No bombs or bullets or rocks or guns. Just hashtags and voices at the tops of their lungs!”
