Occupy Wall Street's Breakout Stars
These are the new celebrities of the Occupy Wall Street movement.
CEO, Bank of America
aka, the Enemy
The Bank of America CEO attracted the ire of the crowds at Zuccotti Park after defending his bank’s decision to charge a $5 fee to customers who make purchases on their debit cards, by saying, “they'll understand what we're doing—understand we have a right to make a profit." He added that the Dodd-Frank Act would cost his bank “billions.” The comments were essentially a reference to President Obama’s earlier comments that banks do not have “an inherent right” to a “certain amount of profit.” Outraged activists would use the new fee as a rallying cry for the Occupy Wall Street movement.
