Not unlike Chelsea Clinton, Daily Beast columnist Meghan McCain first gained recognition as the daughter of a presidential hopeful. While on the campaign trail with her father, John McCain, in 2007, the then-23-year-old started a blog that gave interested readers unusually personal insight into her family’s pursuit of the White House. Following her father’s loss in 2008, the former Newsweek intern was hired to contribute her take on politics here at The Daily Beast. This fall, McCain stepped out from behind the computer to work in front of the camera, joining MSNBC as a contributor. McCain aims to represent a younger generation of Republican voters.
