In the revamped version of Julie Taymor’s Broadway musical extravaganza, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, a few big additions were made. Aside from new original songs by U2, the addition of the famous line “with great power comes great responsibility” and a $70 million budget (making it officially the most expensive musical ever), the iconic upside-down kiss between Spider-Man and his love interest, Mary Jane Watson, got thrown into the mix. In an indoor setting, pulling off the kiss was undoubtedly easier than it was for Tobey Maguire, who had to endure rainwater running up his nose while filming the kiss for 2002’s Spider-Man.
