Details of one of the many events to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee, the Diamond Jubilee Pageant, were release today.
Billed as "a curtain raiser to the national celebrations for the Jubilee Weekend", the four-day event will take place in the private grounds of Windsor Castle from 10th – 13th May 2012, and the royal family will attend.
Confirmed performers include Susan Boyle, Il Divo, American classical violinist David Garrett, Nashville singer and banjo player Abigail Washburn, Australian entertainer Rolf Harris, and traditional Indian singer Raghu Dixit.
Simon Brooks Ward, Director and Producer said: “We have been overwhelmed by the goodwill and support from stars across the globe, who each have their own personal memories of The Queen, and share an enormous amount of love and respect for her work. The Diamond Jubilee Pageant will reflect the truly global impact The Queen has had during Her 60 year reign by bringing horses, people, music and their culture from around the World to join the party.
“When you think of all the State occasions The Queen has been involved with, horses have always been there. The Queen’s passion for horses is one that the public recognize as her most treasured.”
Despite tickets prices of £50 - £100 per day, the Diamond Jubilee Pageant is expected to attract over 15,000 visitors.
