Chick-fil-A became the latest battleground in the gay-marriage culture war after company president Dan Cathy announced in July that he supported the “biblical definition of the family unit.” The fast-food chain lost sponsors and gay-marriage supporters declared a boycott—but those against same-sex marriage rallied behind the company. Sarah Palin sent a photo of herself and husband Todd visiting a Chick-fil-A and former Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee and declared August 1 “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day.” Thousands flocked to their local franchise on Wednesday, drawing long lines and flooding social media.
