Longing for a Homeland

Ari Kohen marvels at the Zionist undertones found in The Hobbit, which I have yet to see (spoil away - I'm a big fan of the book). He's got four points, but I was most struck by the first:

The Misty Mountain song of the dwarves, which you can watch above, recalls the many, many songs of mourning and longing for Zion, sung for centuries by Jews in the diaspora;
