A 47-year-old man has been arrested for breach of the peace after running at Prince Charles's car ahead of the Archbishop's enthronement today.

The dramatic scenes unfolded as the heir to the throne arrived at the installation of the 105th Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Revd Justin Welby.

The alarming incident recalled scenes in November 2012 when Charles and Camilla had white paint thrown over their official car by protestors.

According to local paper Kent Online, the man charged Chaz's motor near the cathedral at 2.20pm today.

The paper reports;

Joel Tennant, 22, a student from the University of Kent, was stood outside the gates of The Kings School near Canterbury Cathedral at the time.

He said there were around 10 protesters there.

But when a police escort arrived with the royal car, the scene dramatically changed.
aid: "One anti-government protester attempted to jump in front of his car.

"Several policemen rushed to the scene.

"From then non-uniform officers kept him on the ground until it was safely inside the gates.

"About 10 minutes later a police van arrived, at which point police picked him up off the ground in handcuffs and put him in the van.”
