Fringe Factor: Liberal Professors Should Be Shot

University professors who teach women’s studies should be shot, Michele Bachmann is crusading against gay bullies, and George Zimmerman signs autographs at a gun show.

Liberal Professors Should be Taken Out and Shot

“The hard left, human-hating people that run modern universities” should “all be taken out and shot,” Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute head Austin Ruse declared this week. Ruse was discussing the Duke University student who’s made headlines recently with the announcement that she is also a porn star, and had concluded that Duke’s women’s studies department is to blame for one student’s decision to pursue porn. The only proper punishment for “teaching people how to be sex-positive and overcome patriarchy”? Execution, apparently.

Bachmann: Gays Are Bullying the American People

Michele Bachmann is sick and tired of gay bullying. No, the tried and true Tea Party conservative hasn’t had a change of heart about gay rights. According to Bachmann, the gay community has “bullied the American people” and “intimidated politicians.” The Minnesota Rep. was mostly talking about Arizona’s vetoed right-to-refuse-service bill when she said, “There’s nothing about gays in there, but the gay community decided to make this their measure,” on a radio show at CPAC last week. “And the thing that I think is getting a little tiresome is the gay community have so bullied the American people and they have so intimidated politicians that politicians fear them and they think they get to dictate the agenda everywhere. Well, not with the Constitution you don’t.”

Zimmerman Signs Autographs at Fl. Gun Show

Acquitted murderer turned F-list celebrity George Zimmerman was the guest of honor at a Florida gun show over the weekend. The New Orlando Gun Show was apparently so excited to have Zimmerman, who shot and killed an unarmed teenager two years ago, that it was willing to keep him on the roster even if it meant changing venues as a result of backlash. And people—reportedly less than 20, but still—actually showed up to meet the killer neighborhood watchman and get his autograph! “He seemed nervous and actually a little scared to be there. He also appeared emotional, like he was really thankful and touched that people would come out to see him,” said one gun show attendee who got an autographed photo of Zimmerman posing with his dog. “It was pretty weird to meet him in person—and wow, he has gained a lot of weight!”

Minnesota State Rep.: NBA is full of Criminals

Hopefully Pat Garofalo’s latest Twitter debacle will encourage him to take a break from social media for a while. The Minnesota State Rep. is no stranger to the Twitter spat: in July he very maturely made fun of a liberal adversary named Eric Pusey’s last name while simultaneously accusing his teacher’s union of being a hate group. This week he was at it again, creating an uproar with the tweet, “Let’s be honest, 70% of teams in NBA could fold tomorrow + nobody would notice a difference w/ possible exception of increase in street crime.” Naturally, hundreds of people responded to Garofalo’s tweet calling it racist because, well, it was. Garofalo eventually made a strange apology, attempting to somehow explain the rationale behind his comment by saying that he was under the impression that the NBA did not test for marijuana but he has since learned that that is false.
