He gave it 'careful consideration' but heavy metal fan Prince Harry has turned down an offer to present a trophy at the Kerrang! heavy metal awards.
The British rock magazine - which is famous for over-using the letter K - got in touch with the rowdy royal after he was revealed to be a heavy metal fan but the Prince has declined their invitation in a polite letter shared on their website.
"Prince Harry has asked me to thank you for your letter of 5th February, in which you invite His Royal Highness to visit the Kerrang! Magazine offices, or present an award at the Kerrang! Awards," Harry's private secretary wrote on his behalf.
"The Prince was extremely grateful for your kind invitations. Having given careful consideration to the possibilities, however, I very much regret that Prince Harry reluctantly feels he has to decline.
"His Royal Highness is focusing on his charitable and military commitments at this time, and is unable to take on any further visits or engagements. I am sorry to have to send you this necessarily disappointing response but I do hope you understand.
"Prince Harry sends you and everyone at the magazine his best wishes and thanks for thinking of him in this way."
Kerrang! reached out to the 29-year-old royal after learning he is a fan of some heavy metal bands.
Dominic West revealed Harry's musical taste after joining him on the South Pole trek.
"Harry has a terrible selection on his iPod. It is the sort of thing soldiers listen to - hardcore thrash metal," he said, naming Megadeath, Anthrax and Slayer as some of the Prince's favourites.
