Can you explain what is happening in this video? Because even the people who filmed it can’t.
Contained inside this modern day Zapruder film, you will see a woman try to park a Pontiac Grand Prix so many times that after four minutes, the person filming it asks his friend if he should call the police.
Then the parking job goes on for eight more minutes. This video contains a 12-minute parking job.
Other cars drive into the lot and the woman trying to park sometimes tries to get in their way, seemingly intentionally.
No one knows why. Not even the guy who filmed it.
“I really hope she was high,” Bill Huskamp told The Daily Beast. “Otherwise, I’ve got nothing.”
Huskamp was working in a cherry picker on Wednesday outside U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis when he saw this woman looping around the parking lot three times. Then he grabbed his camera.
Know what that means? The 12-minute parking job is even longer than that.
Later on, his wife, Kristin, uploaded the video to Vimeo. (She stayed away from YouTube because his husband had “Iron Man” playing in the background, solidifying this as a truly great piece of modern art—and also very susceptible to YouTube’s copyright infringement detector.)
The woman, who is in the car alone, effectively completely parks the car a few times before looping around the lot a few times, then finally squeezing it into the only somewhat difficult space in the lot. So what happens after that?
“She walked off like nothing out of the ordinary had happened,” said Kim.
So here are the three possible explanations:
1 - This woman was was by herself, practicing regular, non-parallel parking in the middle of the day, using strangers’ cars as obstacles and cones, with no qualms about other people trying to park in this parking lot.
2 - She had crippling OCD that we now all feel bad about watching this. But that’s unlikely because,
3 - She probably was high as hell.
Why is No. 3 the most likely answer? Wednesday was 4/20.
The Huskamp household is still baffled. They don’t know the truth. We may never know the truth. The 12-minute parking job, like who shot JFK and what happens after our bodies turn to dust, will likely remain a mystery forever.
But Bill did make sure to take a moment and thank the woman who brought a brain-rattling, soul-destroying mystery to his Wednesday when she walked off.
