Kim Kardashian makes a return to public life and publicity today, a little over two months after she was bound, gagged, and robbed by a masked gang in a brutal Paris robbery.
Although she has still not posted on Instagram since the attack, Kim is the star of a two-minute film on British style-geek site Love Magazine’s digital Advent calendar, and is to be found behind the December 12 door.
The video by James Lima features Kim as a new-age Earth mother in a bra and panties by Agent Provocateur, paired with silver high heels and a fur coat from Coach.
The cosmically themed video features simulations of the Northern Lights, allusions to the star of Bethlehem, and Kim bestriding the landscape.
It’s basically Attack of the 50 Foot Woman remade for the social-media generation.
The Love Advent calendar has become something of a style fixture in recent years and the 2016 edition is proving to be a vintage version: Already this year the videos have included such Xmas surprises as Emily Ratajkowski dancing in a modified bra, Heidi Klum in the bath, Bella Hadid working out in neon gym kit while eating bananas, Irina Shayk bringing eroticism to a potter’s wheel, Rita Ora as a sassy 1950s-era singer with nipple pasties, Ireland Baldwin frolicking topless on a beach, and Hercules actress Brabara Palvin recreating Sharon Stone’s iconic interrogation scene from the 1992 movie Basic Instinct.
Love Magazine was founded by the visionary stylist Katie Grand; its constant digital output produces two annual newsstand editions, published by Condé Nast International.
Grand is also a highly regarded stylist and creative consultant, and a key collaborator of designer Marc Jacobs, with whom she has worked for the last 11 years.
Literally everyone in the fashion world wants to work with Grand, as the stellar lineup for the Advent calendar attests.
Kim’s little sister Kendall Jenner was the star of the December 5 calendar window.
