Tropical Storm Lee left at least 100 homes flooded in northern New Orleans, officials said Wednesday. At least 70 homes were flooded in St. Tammany Parish, and at least another 30 were flooded in neighboring Slidell, along with scattered homes and businesses in Mandeville and Madisonville, officials said. “You can never tell with these small tropical storms—they can fool you,” said Madisonville Mayor Pete Gitz. St. Tammany officials said they had finished inspecting the area, and most of the damage could be classified as minor. Tropical Storm Lee made landfall Sunday along the Gulf Coast, dumping up to eight inches of rain on the area before moving north.
