Basile Dewez is a PhD candidate and researcher in Political Science at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS), Paris, France. His thesis is about the nature of being Jewish and democratic in the state of Israel. He was previously a Visiting Fellow at Hebrew University and at Boston University, where he worked on the study of nationalism with Prof. Liah Greenfeld. He previously lived in Israel and currently lives in France, where he frequently writes articles on Israel and French Jewry, including for Slate.fr.
