This week, Azzedine Alaïa has proved that he likes taking the clothes right off model’s backs. When the designer discovered that only one image of his work appeared in the Met’s “Model As Muse” show, he asked everyone not to wear his dresses to Monday night’s ball. All high-profile guests planning to wear Alaïa were left high and dry, and it's rumored that Naomi Campbell and Stephanie Seymour didn't even show because they had nothing to wear. Alaïa blamed the omission on Vogue editor Anna Wintour, the creative force behind the party. “She has too much power over this museum,” he said. But there’s some good news for the designer yet: he’s launching a lingerie line, and is currently looking for a designer to help create the collection.
