Movie montages are plentiful on the internet, but how do you make yours stand out from the thousands—maybe even millions—of others?
French film collective collectif HOTU have solved the problem with a basketball and some great visual effects skills. In 87 Bounces, a lone athlete shoots an airball that goes on a journey through some of the most memorable films in cinema history. It rolls past Ray Liotta’s witness relocation home in Goodfellas, into the ‘worst toilet in Scotland’ from Trainspotting, out of the Dude’s toilet in The Big Lebowski and past near-asphyxiated Sandra Bullock in Gravity, among other scenes from notable films. (It should also be noted that Space Jam did not make the cut, so you can rest easy.)
The movie montage on its own is fun enough, but the seamless way in which the basketball has been woven into the clips makes this one worth a look.
