The NCAA will not bring broad sanctions against Baylor University following the Baylor football team's sexual assault scandal, the NCAA has announced. Baylor has been accused of ignoring or mishandling sexual assault allegations, after some 17 women were reportedly raped or physically assaulted by the school's football players since 2011. The allegations, which include reports of four gang rapes, have resulted in the dismissal of Baylor football coach Art Briles and university president Kenneth Starr. While the NCAA will continue to pursue an investigation against the school, it will likely not enact the sweeping punishments it enforced against Penn State, after former assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky was convicted of molesting children. The sanctions against Penn State included a $60 million fine, a ban from bowl games, and a retraction of 111 game wins.
