Jane Pauley is a television journalist known for her 13-year tenure on NBC's Today show and 12 years on Dateline NBC. After leaving Today, Pauley hosted Real Life with Jane Pauley and served as deputy anchor for NBC Nightly News. In 2004, she returned as host of The Jane Pauley Show and published her autobiography Skywriting: A Life Out of the Blue. Recently Pauley led a discussion on PBS' Depression: Out of the Shadows which aired in May 2008 and participate in the Smart Talk Lecture Series. Television Journalist and Author |

 The NewsHour With Jim Lehrer on PBS is one of the few programs left that offers intelligent, patient, comprehensive, and reliable journalism. Margaret Warner is my personal hero: She’s extremely smart and always prepared. After Margaret interviewed the president of Pakistan, he remarked that she was “a tough lady.” But Margaret’s not tough in that showy, “look at me!” style prevailing these days; she’s tough because she knows the material and asks the right questions. If you’re a journalist, go watch and learn. The bar is set very high in places like that, and there’s just not enough of it. |
