More bad news from the worst place in Europe: Belarus has detained hundreds of protesters and seven opposition candidates after its dictator, Alexander Lukashenko, declared victory in his reelection campaign with 80 percent of the vote. Tens of thousands of protesters gathered in Minsk and were attacked by anti-riot police. Those rounded up could face up to 15 years in prison for “organizing mass disturbances.”
