Belgian authorities say two soldiers were injured on Friday night after a man attacked them with a knife in the center of Brussels. Ester Natus, a spokeswoman for the federal prosecutor’s office, which handles terrorism investigations, said prosecutors have opened an investigation into the incident “on suspicion of attempted terrorist murder,” The New York Times reports. The man shouted “Allahu akbar” twice during the attack, she said. The man later died in a hospital after the soldiers fatally shot him during the attack. The incident occurred around the same time a man with a large knife attacked police officers outside London’s Buckingham Palace on Friday night. Police found a weapon in the man’s car after discovering him driving in a restricted area, authorities said. Two officers were injured in the course of detaining him, and counter-terrorism officials are investigating the incident.
