Bill Gates on Tuesday compared President-elect Donald Trump to President John F. Kennedy. According to the famed business magnate and philanthropist, after having a phone conversation with the president-elect, he is convinced that Trump could focus on the positive message of breaking down bureaucratic barriers. “A lot of his message has been about... where he sees things not as good as he’d like,” Gates told CNBC’s Squawk Box. “But in the same way President Kennedy talked about the space mission and got the country behind that, I think whether it’s education or stopping epidemics, other health breakthroughs,” the billionaire explained, “and in this energy space, there can be a very upbeat message that his administration is going to organize things, get rid of regulatory barriers, and have American leadership through innovation.” The Microsoft co-founder said Trump was “interested” in listening to his ideas on such matters, and indicated “there will be further conversation.”
