If love lives are "mysterious," call 'em gay.
Dear Beast,
I know you may not post this since you guys have edited and censored my comments before, but hopefully somebody there who has a brain will read this comment.
You guys should really start doing your homework instead of engaging in conjecture and innuendo. Sufjan Stevens is a Christian and has had a longtime girlfriend. Sufjan has also made it clear in a number of publicly available communications that when he sings about "him" or variations thereof he is talking about God and Jesus Christ. Try watching the Daneilson Family documentary for example.
By the way I'm an attorney, and if you think that Sufjan being a "public figure" is going to get you out of a potential defamation suit, get better counsel. You guys continue to prove your incompetence everyday from your typos to your factual errors. And no, I'm not some right-wing Christian. I have a resume that is replete with local, state and national political accolades. Also, there is nothing ambiguously gay about Liberace.
Sincerely,
Real Annoyed
Chillax!
Ted Haggard is a Christian with a longtime wife. Proof of his heterosexuality? You see how that argument works out. Does being called "ambiguous" tip anyone dangerously close to the damnable same-sex lovin' forbidden zone? Hardly. And what the hell does it matter to you if Sufjan is the subject of speculation? If you're an "attorney" who thinks this is something you can sue over then you're not exactly up on the law, ARG2008. Being called gay is not the basis of a lawsuit in 2009. Nor is being gay. Nor is being a Chriso-fascist.
You might want to actually know the meaning of a word before you use it. Ambiguous? Don't think there's anything unclear about George Michael, Freddie Mercury, Liberace, etc. Another example of how dumb the people at this site are. The DB has no more journalistic integrity than an underground middle school newspaper. Stupid slide shows like this are supposed to give the high brow target audience the same kind of thrill as reading a tabloid. The only problem is that the content is dumb, already well known (and therefore not a story), and just an excuse to put celeb photos (and old ones at that) on the site.
ree-freaking-diculous.
Ricky Martin had twin sons . . . FROM A SURROGATE.
Why have children the conventional way . . . and make love to a woman?
Make love to a woman ?

Gay, straight, bi, tri...what does it matter? Why is there such a concern? And we bitch and scream about gay marraige...folks move on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok, this really annoys me. Why is the name of hell is this in here? Who cares!
If they can sing and perform well enough so that I'll buy a CD or enjoy one of their shows I don't really give a damn what they choose to do in their private lives.
this is patently sophomoric!
it appears that some immature 20-something interns got a giggle about posting this around the watercooler, and and editor who should have known better let it slide. the lot of you should be ashamed!
Androgyny is in EVERY performers tool-kit, being interested in what they do off stage is YOUR fetish and should be off limits to slathering teenage 'journalists' with a desperate publication at their disposal.
from what I see above ALL your readers are calling "FOUL"
