The Week in Culture
This week, Diane Sawyer got promoted, Whitney Houston staged a comeback, a plus-size model hit it big, and Angela Lansbury paid homage to Bea Arthur. VIEW OUR GALLERY.
Things are picking up. Back to school, back to the White House, back to culture. This week, the box offices play host to two well-made indies (Amreeka, American Casino) and a sweet Woodstock tribute from Ang Lee, Werner Herzog has made another crazy film, we lost a great conductor, plus-size model Lizzi Miller became an overnight celebrity, Imogen Heap rocked Letterman, Ted Kennedy’s posthumous memoir became a bestseller, and the Olsens wore bunny ears in Tokyo. All this and more in our week in culture.

In the gallery, Whitney Houston is referred to as "the best singer ever." Please don't say that, it's a ridiculous assumption that would only be made by someone with no taste whatsoever. Whitney is a decent singer who oversings pathologically and has horrible taste in songs.

In the gallery, the Bonfire in Navada sounds like fun, rolling around in the dirt, bring back the love are nation start with. I wish Illnois will have one. If Illnois did have one wonder what it would be like?
