I find it odd that people with that much money don't already have spatulas. Or that they even allow people to buy them gifts at all. Very low-class if you ask me. These people could raise charity money rather than have people buy them $400 forks.
I know people with a lot less money who insist on "no-gift" celebrations of all kinds.

What is all of this crawling and craving for merchandise? How unseemly. I'm an Italian from Chicago, and I remember being shocked when I started going to weddings outside the immediate family when I was in college. Tables were heaped with wrapped packages, and I thought: What is all of this crap? Italians from Chicago go to a wedding and bring an envelope filled with cash. We give it to the bride, and she buys what she wants. I refuse to use wedding registries on the grounds that I deeply resent being told what to buy and where to buy it. I give cash. No one has ever been disappointed or returned it.

I don't understand why everyone is making such a big deal out of Ivanka's registry...has no one else ever gotten married before? The whole idea behind a registry is to provide guests with suggestions since they will bring you gifts anyway!
