Has he made himself clear? House Speaker John Boehner said Wednesday that he will not have the Republican-controlled House enter conference negotiations to hash out the differences between the House and Senate versions of immigration bills. "The idea that we're going to take up a 1,300-page bill that no one had ever read, which is what the Senate did, is not going to happen in the House," said Boehner, "And frankly, I'll make clear that we have no intention of ever going to conference on the Senate bill." Boehner had already said they would not vote on the Senate's bill, so nixing the option for conference negotiations seems to leave the possibility for immigration reform in this Congress dead.
