Rebekah Brooks, former chief executive of Rupert Murdoch's News International, made her first appearance at the Southwark Crown Court on Friday to face three charges of conspiring to pervert the course of justice by alleged plotting to hide phone-hacking evidence from the police. Her husband, Charlie, faces one count of perverting the course of justice.
