A Roman Catholic diocese is getting some shiny new digs. The church has won the right to buy the bankrupt Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, Calif., for $57.5 million. The shining glass structure, designed by architect Philip Johnson, was home to Robert Schuller's Hour of Power television broadcast. The cathedral went bankrupt after several years of family and financial turmoil. The Orange County diocese says it will renovate the interior to make it suitable for Catholic services but will leave the exterior intact.
