Charlie Trotter, a renowned chef and wine dealer, is being sued by two collecters who allege he sold them a fake bottle of 1945 Romanee-Conti from the Domaine de la Romanee-Conti winery. The federal lawsuit, filed on Thursday in Chicago, claims that Trotter and one of his wine experts tricked them into paying $46,000 for the wine. Collectors Bekim and Ilir Frrokaj say an outside appraisal determined the bottle was a counterfeit and are seeking more than $76,000 in damages.
