31 Million Watched Jacko Funeral

HP Highlight - Jackson TV

Though the number of people who tuned into watch Michael Jackson's memorial is stunning—31.1 million—what may be even more significant is the amount of people who watched it online: roughly 30 million more. The numbers serve as a clear indicator that how people get their news has changed. Still, the ratings are behind other major funerals, such as Princess Diana's and Ronald Reagan's. Meanwhile, Jackson is expected to be buried wearing one of his signature gloves, and AEG Live, the company that was putting on the concerts in London, has begun hawking Jackson merchandise online.

It was all too much. His death became a phenom that overshadowed his life.

Enough already with calling Michael Jackson "Jacko". He's dead; let the venom go.

His children don't deserve to see their father referred to as Jacko.

It's better than this joke:

Q: What did St. Peter say to Michael when he got to Heaven?
A: "Beat It"

Lol @ someone on TDB forum that said his memorial was viewed by 1 billion people worldwide. I knew you were off, but that's crazy.

The man was a fashion trend setter...I was watching Tiger Woods last weekend and he was wearing only one glove.

That is more than watched the inauguration! What a sad statement. How can the Iranian regime take us seriously when we pay more attention to Michael Jackson's funeral than to their repressive actions (ditto China)? They understand what the average American cares about. Sad.

R.I.P MJ

I'm proud to live in a country where a poor black kid from Gary, Indiana, can grow up to become the rich white man we knew and loved.
