ACORN Sues Filmmakers, Breitbart

HP Main - ACORN
Mark Wilson / Getty Images

ACORN isn't giving up just yet. The community-based advocacy group filed a lawsuit in Baltimore over a documentary revealing employees offering legal advice to a pair of conservative activists disguised as a pimp and a prostitute, which led to Congress pulling funding and a condemnation from the White House. James O’Keefe (the pimp), Hannah Giles (the prostitute), and Breitbart (the Web site that broke the video) are all targets of the suit. The complaint seeks $500,000 for the two employees secretly filmed in the video and $1 million for ACORN in damages, Politico reports.

Today, as usual, GERRY will demonstate no original thought and the various ways in which PROPAGANDA can be inserted into a discussion by using the THE 5 RULES OF PROPAGANDA--

1) The rule of orchestration: endlessly repeating the same messages in different variations and combinations.

2) The rule of simplification: reducing all data to a simple confrontation between 'Good and Bad', 'Friend and Foe'.

3) The rule of disfiguration: discrediting the opposition by crude smears and parodies.

4) The rule of transfusion: manipulating the consensus values of the target audience for one's own ends.

5) The rule of unanimity: presenting one's viewpoint as if it were the unanimous opinion of all right-thinking people: draining the doubting individual into agreement by the appeal of star-performers, by social pressure, and by 'psychological contagion'.

I guess that makes it OK that a "community organization" which reaps untold millions from our tax money is operating in this manner. Why the loyalty to this front group? I don't get you libs. you are a forgiving lot (Ted Kennedy-left girl to die in his submerged car as he swam to safety, Robert Byrd-Grand Kleagle of the KKK, Barney Frank-had a male prostitution ring operated out of his DC apartment, Charlie Rangel-failed to pay taxes on rental income, solicited funds on his HR stationary to have building named after him at CCNY, donated heavily to the House members on the Ethics Commitee investigationg him). But this is plain wrong. Moreover, it is the tip of the iceberg. You should choose your battles more wisely. This one is lost.

ACORN should sue these conservative idiots. It turns out that Giles father is an evil preacher in FL who has martinis and says all kinds of horrible things about President Obama. Hannah Giles was scheduled to be interviewed by CNN but she bailed at
the last minute and didn't do the interview. I found out this week that
her father is the preacher who has been preaching hate towards the president.

I find it ironic that Hannah thinks it's o.k. for her father to receive tax-payer
money for political speech and spreading hate. Do as I say, not as I do
hypocrisy as usual with the conservatives.

Acorn may have a case against the film makers but at this point they've already lost this battle in the court of public opinion and going after these two will only look like sour grapes. If you have a PR crisis, it doesn't help your image to have a national organisation sending a pack of lawyers after two college students. And if you believe for a second that if Acorn wins this suit that the kids will be paying out of their own pocket you're crazy. It'll be some right wing group that picks up their tab.

Two college KIDS? They are 24 years old and smeared an entire organization.
Don't play grown up by attacking people one moment and then crying for your
mother when they respond.
Hannah Giles' father is a preacher whose whole claim to fame has been vile
sermons against President Obama, while living on tax-payers money. I'm sure
if some liberal film-maker digs into HIS organization, there is plenty of dirt to
be found. There usually is with these religious hypocrites.

It'll be fun to see what turns up in the discovery portion of this case. Acorn will go after the girl's father (maybe a little hate speech, some belligerent quotes against the president), and whatever republican is going to bankroll the defendants will get access to the whole of Acorn's internal documents. I really think that this will blow up in Acorn's face.

I find your constant comments about Murdoch to be fascinating, when you fail to mention (or call for) investigations of George Soros.

You know him, the multi-billionaire who caused such financial catastrophe in the UK (bringing it to it's knees, nearly to destruction, decades ago),
- who funds the leftist org. Media Matters,
- who has very strong ties to ACORN,
- and to the Appollo Foundation (who wrote the stimulus bill making $8 billion eligible for ACORN, if they apply for it),
- and to the TIDES foundation (who reimbursed ACORN for the $1million that Dale Rathke embezzled), and funnels all sorts of funds as a "tax exempt" org. to assist wealthy radical leftists to evade tax consequences,
- to SEIU (the thug / brute-strength arm of ACORN).

I can't wait for the discovery part of this lawsuit, which may open up the biggest can of worms we've ever seen. And FYI, I don't care if Murdoch is investigated. If there is corruption there, get rid of it.

See the difference between liberal and conservative arguments is that we have values that tell us right from wrong. We don't look for someone else and say "we're not as bad as" or "he's worse than" we are, thus giving us permission for wrong-doing. Right or wrong is not a relative term.

The police reports will no doubt
Be useful in court.
Saying that a video showing this worker

|
8:31 pm, Sep 23, 2009

DD3075

There's a big diff between being "railroaded" and taking responsibility for aiding and abetting criminal activity.

Every organization and corporation has to accept liability for the actions of their employees. That's why people sue corporations, and rarely sue employees. The employees are always acting as a representative of the corp. or org., during working hours.

Since several of the different offices offered similar resolutions on how to avoid tax issues, and how to file "around" the rules/laws, it makes me think the techniques may be offered in training classes. Otherwise, it's just a co-inky-dinky.

As for the issue of punctuation, you clearly missed the broader point. It's not so much about YOUR punctuation (or lack thereof), it's about the "punctuation rules" that are used to insult, demean, and intimidate conservative posters, but for the liberal posters.....well, they can be overlooked. Just an astute observation. Relax.
