AZ Rep: Bloomberg's Kids Will be Kidnapped

CS - Michael Bloomberg

It’s all fun and games until Mayor Bloomberg’s daughter gets kidnapped. That’s what Arizona Representative John Shadegg said on Monday night. Speaking on the House floor about the planned trials of the alleged 9/11 terrorists in New York City. “I saw the Mayor of New York say today, ‘We’re tough. We can do it.’ Well Mayor, how are you going to feel when it’s your daughter that’s kidnapped at school by a terrorist?”

I say terrorism charges should be filed against John Shadegg immediately. What a tool.

The terrorists are too cowardly to go after Bloomberg. He's got bodyguards. They'll do just what they did on 9/11----they'll attack vulnerable unguarded members of the public.

There's room on the list right under John Shadegg--do you want us to add you to it? Would that make you happy?

Hey, I'm just asking questions here!!!

Are you a Gilbert and Sullivan fan? You sound just like the "Lord High Executioner"

"As some day it may happen that a victim must be found,
I've got a little list--I've got a little list
Of society offenders who might well be underground,
And who never would be missed--who never would be missed!"

Another class act by a republican, but Bloomberg is probably ungrateful. That liberal New Yorker will probably allow his daughter to be kidnapped so he can push his communist agenda on us along with Adolf Obama.

What is up with the too-close-to-your-truth-to-be-genuine sarcasm today?
Are you trying a new stylistic shtick?

Continuing with the magical thinking meme, put imprisonned terrorists in NYC and there will be kidnappings. Guaranteed.

And they will go after your daughters. Classy.

This trademark opposition fearmongering.

I don't see how predicting the kidnapping of a man's daughter, or comparing the president to Hitler, or telling people that the world will end if we care for our sick, or that our country will be attacked if we imprison our enemies is fear mongering. Those seem like legitimate concerns, at least Glenn Beck tells me they are.

I like the way you roll Plant, defending a comment that implicitly threatens the mayor of NYC, while stating that said mayor would be complicit in said crime because he is a liberal, communist, Nazi. 1 internets for you, my friend, well done.

Just what the city needs, more paranoia. Leave it to someone from Arizona to come up with advice for the mayor of NYC.

The rhetoric surrounding 9/11 has always bothered me.
The people so quick to use it as a justification for war/wiretapping/ torture are also the ones so quick to dismiss New Yorkers as a bunch of communist/socialist/ liberal elites.
Sarah Palin only wants to speak to "real" America- except in September. Apparently NYC is part of the nation only one day a year.

A terrorist might "kidnap" Bloomberg's daughter? For what, in exchange for cupcakes. Terrorist KILL people and blow themselves up, they don't KIDNAP people. If you are going to fear-monger at least get your fearfulness correct. What a complete and total douche bag!

The point John Shadegg was making is that Bloonberg is a selfish man with a big ego, he doe's not care about the people in NY he cares only about himself. I would like to know how much money the Federal Gov't is giving Bloomberg, to put this risk and target on the backs of New Yorker's.

According to Gov. Paterson they knew NY was the choice for the trials 6 months ago. The reason they waited is so Bloomy could be reelected again on his third illegal term.

Are the Republicans really this spineless, or is this just the reflex action they display in response to anything the President does?

Which one of those options is worse?

America has prosecuted terrorists and enemy combatants in America for centuries. We did it with German spies caught during WWII. We did it with the first bombing of the World Trade Center in NYC.
We stopped doing it when the depraved moron, Bushboy, and his evil Svengali, Cheney, decided to set up a gulag on Gitmo to the everlasting shame of America.
If someone is going to be accused of heinous crimes against America, then let them be tried in America, so we can show that we are a just society and have nothing to hide.
Let's not act hypocritically, like the brutal dictatorships (Myanmar, N. Korea, China, et. al.) that we so often denounce for not following the rule of law.

America has used military tribunals for centuries to prosecute enemy combatants. George Washington, Jackson, Lincoln, FDR, etc. all used military tribunals.

Let me give you an example you might understand: The Nuremburg Trials against Nazis were military tribunals. Get it now?

AND, Before you BOers start ranting again about tribunals, you might note that Obama himself is using the military tribunals Bush set up to try the USS Cole bombers and some of the other Al Qaida militants

Right, so why aren't they trying Mohammed in a tribunal?

No, don't agree that it's crazy, tell me, why are they doing it this way? I want to know.

HE APOLOGIZES:

Shadegg Apologizes For Saying NYC Mayor's Daughter Could Get Kidnapped

...This afternoon, he told the Associated Press that he's sorry -- but added that his point was still a good one.

"I apologize for the insensitivity of my remarks with respect to the mayor or his family, however I think it is important to note...bla bla bla"

What did you expect from a republican Winston? Honesty? Integrity? He bought the job just like George W. bought the job at the Rangers.
