Behar: Is Janet Napolitano Gay?

Should Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano be expecting an apology? On The Joy Behar Show Monday night, as the conversation between Behar and two gay guests, actors Bryan Bratt and columnist Dan Savage, turned to gay rights, Behar mentioned that she had been talking about the subject with Napolitano on ABC’s The View earlier in the day. After Savage mentioned that Napolitano has taken action on behalf of immigrant widows but not yet on gay rights, Behar shot back: “Now why would she do that? Isn’t she gay?” After a hiccup of silence, both Bratt and Savage replied, “I’ve never slept with her.” Behar, seemingly trying to salvage the moment, sad “You know what guys? Neither have I.” Napolitano is unmarried and has previously stated she is “not gay.”

Does it matter that Joy asked a question, albeit a leading one, not made a statement?

Meaning, can she still be legally "in trouble" with Janet's camp if it is NOT true?

I sorta liked Joy on the view ( although only watched a couple of times) and tuned in to her show. She should have stayed with the view. She doesn't seem capable of interviewing on her own anything heavier than fluff. That said, isn't it irrelevant whether Ms. Napolitano is gay or Irish? Getting to what matters in an interview isn't Ms. Behars' forte.

Ms. Behar seems at first blush quite a likable person. But you really need strong skills to handle "high level" conversational interviews. Lacking such a skill level, one might tend to ad-lib into socially hazardous waters!

Most quasi-comedian types wouldn't blend-well at a 20-Count, Formal Dinner, wine included.

Is Napolitano gay ? Doesn't matter, although kind of butch in a Janet Reno kind of way.
Behar is just speaking her mind and is a lot more interesting
and tougher on her guests than Larry King, same time slot.
I Like Behar more on her own show.
She's seems less restrained by the absence
Mother Babs hanging over her.
The show is fast paced with lots of interesting
guests, Larry David included.
She's actually not too bad on the meaty political stuff either.

Why should she be appologized to? No one appologizes to me when they assume that I am straight. Is being called gay an insult? I think that I'm insulted...

Is Napolitano gay? I don't know and I couldn't care less. What concerns me more about her is that she's not very bright! In addition, she doesn't appear to have a solid grasp of the issues.

Her guest's response was more interesting to me. Behar always seems to just ask whatever -- more like an everyday person -- except she's on t.v. :(

Joy Behar is in over her head with her own show. You can take the girl out of Brooklyn, but you can't take Brooklyn out of the girl.
