Bill Clinton Snubs Obama

President Obama and Hillary Clinton may have buried hatchet, but Bill, it seems, is soldiering on: “In a slap at President Barack Obama, former President Bill Clinton will headline a fundraiser for a New York congresswoman challenging White House-backed Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand in the state's Democratic primary,” the Associated Press writes. Gillibrand was appointed to fill Clinton’s seat earlier this year, and President Obama intervened at one point to dissuade Rep. Steve Israel from challenging her.

Obama didn't support Bill Clinton's first choice for president last year, so there is no reason for Bill Clinton to support Obama's first choice in the NY Senate race.

OK squigg- I don't know
What's up with you today.
Let me rephrase.
It's excusing Clinton only because
He takes a position different
From Obama's.

Absolutely!

Why should he have to walk in lock-step with Obama? Surely it's obvious to everyone who follows politics that both Clinton's are much less far to the left than Obama. Most recently, the story about Hillary Clinton urging Obama to use tougher language in support of the Iranians demonstrating/protesting in the streets shows that she is willing to take a strong stand for people fighting and dying for freedom, as well.

Got to love the irony......have the Democrats realized yet that Obama is far to the right of the Clintons?

It's called a 'choice', not a 'snub'. Bill Clinton is a former President himself, so if he looks at two candidates and decides one is a better choice for his endorsement than the other, that's his effing call. Anyone who thinks that Obama being President means that he gets to dictate where Bill Clinton goes and who Bill Clinton supports isn't a true Democrat, because that's filthy GOP thinking right there.

Democrats are supposed to have the freedom to decide, rather than have their decisions made for them by whoever happens to be the top party member at the time.

What's interesting is that New York magazine just reported that Gillibrand had the support of the Clintons, which is at odds with this report.

Much ado about nothing. Clinton is his own man and can back whoever he wants. Expecting anything less is ridiculous.

Still, no matter how you slice it, Bill "Slick Willy" Clinton is a jerk and a fallen man, and I am a Democrat. Whoever put their love one through a public humiliation is not fit for leadership, that goes for both Bill and Mark Sanford, and many failed politician husbands in between. The post-presidency Bill proves to be petty and vengeful. He cannot resolve to the fact that his political style is so 1980s and hate Obama for his uppity gut. He can jab at Obama whenever he got a chance, but that is not going to hurt, because he is getting more and more irrelevant and will become more so if he continues his antics of not getting on board. I say, WHATEVER,

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand must be thrilled. After Clinton supported his wife for presidency - she lost. He supported his friend for Democratic governor race in Virginia - he lost. Does anyone know who the last person he supported and won?
