Bush Book Deal Worth $7 Million
A well-placed source in the publishing industry says George W. Bush’s book deal is valued at about $7 million. The former president has already written 30,000 words of the book, to be published by Crown and tentatively called Decision Points, which will focus on his most important life lessons. “I want people to understand the environment in which I was making decisions. I want people to get a sense of how decisions were made and I want people to understand the options that were placed before me,” he told AP. Although Bush’s $7 million deal is $8 million less than Bill Clinton’s deal for My Life, the new book will not be a memoir: Instead of recounting his life story, he’ll write about a dozen personal and professional choices, including giving up drinking and picking Dick Cheney as his vice president.

He can WRITE?!?!?!
I would pay a lot of money to buy a truthful book by Bush. Unfortunately, his life-long track record proves that he cannot tell the truth, because he's not intelligent enough to recognize and/or understand it. Ergo, he would have to pay me to read the drivel that is guaranteed to appear in print under his name as author (or, more likely, "collaborator"). The man is a sick, brainless, feeble-minded psychopath who cannot distinguish truth from "shine-ola".
I do recall one truthful statement he made while in office: He couldn't wait to hit the "rubber chicken" speaking circuit to collect his percentage of fees for giving taxpayer money to the rich.
It is no coincidence that his money-making tour started outside the USA, where he is reviled only slightly less by foreigners than by Americans.
No, he cannot write, or speak properly, or think clearly, or run the government, as he has proven. This will go straight to remainders - don't pass GO, don't collect ANY money.
Sadly, enough of the 20% or so of the public who supported him to the end read, so the book will have middling sales though not enough to earn out the advance, But Bush is well-fixed dor the decades of Carter-like hanging on as a constant reminder and embarrasment.
I will not contribute to the project. I do not buy the books of ex-politicos, especially presidents. I remember all too clearly the life they put me through, while in office. This will be as exciting and useful as reading about the sex lives of fruit flies (apologies to fruit fly researchers).
If the saying "only in America" has ever been valid, this one makes it outrageously so. Where else can some one with the intellect, brilliance and wisdom that George Bush possesses can - forget write - just sell a book about his valuable thoughts, sentimental and passionate memories and rich wisdom, that he wishes to share with us, to enrich us and teach the future generations. I'm not sure if it's sad or funny, but then, I guess it will make for something to talk about, and for talk shows to make fun of for some time. The only part I lament though is the $7,000,000 Bush is going to get for this comedy of tragedies he's gonna call his memoir or whatever. One thought though, which has irked me for so long, and which I wish to have someone, highly able and wise, to really address honestly and painfully, if necessary, the question of how can a great and rich in its stock of highly capable people country like the U.S., produce and choose someone like George Bush for a president - and twice!!!!!!@!! Don't you agree with me that something is seriously wrong with our system that enables such mind-boggling catastrophy!!
Perhaps, he'll write it from his prison cell, after being convicted for condoning torture and other violations of U.S. and International laws.
Who ever imagined that a U.S. admnistration would be complicit in war crimes. If nothing else the damage of the "W" years and the attempts to rewrite his history should be a warning to Americans that it can happen here.
And so the "business" of publishing is hurting? The way this so-called "business" does business leaves a rotten taste in one's mouth. Silver spoons are silver spoons. I hope the movers and the shakers in American publishing lose money on this book hand-over-fist at a time when they're pleading poverty and arrogantly refusing to so much as look at manuscripts or even ideas. This book deserves to bite the dust and so do the editorial vultures who are buying it. American publishing hasn't had a new idea in a century. This is an outrage and a dog and pony show perpetuated by a business that needs to hurt so badly it is forced to reexamine its rituals. BOYCOTT this book. ORGANIZE a boycott of this book. Refuse to buy this book. I GUARANTEE you there will be nothing new in it. Take the silver spoon out of the mouth of book publishing, stick it into something nauseating, and fling it at the people who make the books. They truly have it coming. -- Tim Barrus, Amsterdam
I hope he tells us why he hijacked america for his freemason agenda and about his part in skull and bones the secret society that think it own's america .how he turned his presidence into a dictatorship he was no different than hugo chavez and cheney too .And the 12 decisions that destroyed this country if he's trying to save his ass with a book that's funny .WAR CRIMINAL,TYRANT

Obviously it couldn't happen to a more deserving guy.
Bush is going to write a book???!!! What a joke. This guy is inarticulate, butchers the English language at every opportunity...like when he opens his mouth. And now some sorry company is going to pay him to "write" a book?!
Isn't there a law preventing criminals from profiting on books about those crimes?
I think there is.
I was appalled with Bush's administration. If now there is a peek behind the curtain where the awful legislation occurred, where there was an absolute lack of transparency, it might be a welcome insight into what went wrong.
I also thought he was just a puppet for Cheney, Rove, and Ashcroft. So he shouldn't be demonized so much. Direct your rage to the de facto leaders.
Finally, speaking of poor writing, mattbenzor needs to learn to use the shift key, how to use punctuation, basic sentence construction, and using sound research rather than emotive opinion.
Come on Euclid he won't tell the truth. One of the legacies of this presidency if they lied as art of everyday policy.
If you want the truth there are many books about what happened. You won't get it from him even if he knew it.
I am really looking forward to reading his book, and the sooner the better.
You can bet, the surprise will be on you when you finally see just what he was up against, what he wanted to do but could not!
I am definitely not a Republican but I think the media treated Bush very unfairly while he was president by telling a lot of horrible lies the public believed. I'm a news reader and noticed the discrepancies in what the media reported right away.
Looking back, I realize the Democrats were using those lies to increase their status in the eyes of the people. It's unconsionable really. That's why they didn't impeach or prosecute him. They'd lose in court.
I, for one, will be interested to see what Bush has to say.
getalifevirginia is lying again. Not a republican. LOL
Lying is part of republican DNA because they only represent the religious right and the ultra rich and Wall Street. They can't win and tell the truth and when in office hate government so much they try and prove government doesn't work.
Look at Jindal showing how govt failed and using katrina as an example.
If I were an employee at Crown publishing I would be worrying.
This book will tank almost immediately(I wonder who's writing the book for Bush) and the 7 million loss could cost some jobs. It amazes me when I hear someone say,"how long are they going to blame Bush for this economic crisis"? I always say,"well, how long are they going to blame AL Capone for the St. Valentine's day massacre"?
Oh, this still leaves his "life" story out there which I am sure he will get to in due time. What a manipulator and loser.

Well, that's money they'll never get back!!!! I hate the thought of
Bush making money for his screwed up 8 years.
Here is an example of In Greed We Trust: $7,000,000.00 to this fumbling, bumbling, mealy-mouthed sociopathic, lying little twerp. I wouldn't give this guy a cup of coffee on his road to hell! Under the circumstances, GW Bush ought to donate the money to a food bank to benefit some of the millions he has condemned to poverty. Or to "No Child Left Behind" to help a school district now facing bankrupcy.
Thank you.
