Capitol Overrun by Tea-Party Protesters
Michele Bachmann's "Super Bowl of Freedom" is off to a good start: The 4,000 or so protesters who showed up at the Capitol Building Thursday were greeted by 45 to 60 members of the GOP. Speaking to the crowd, House Minority Leader John Boehner called the Democrats’ health-care bill “the greatest threat to freedom that I’ve seen in the 19 years I’ve been in Washington.” Michele Bachmann told the crowd, “It was Thomas Jefferson who said a revolution every now and then is a good thing.” Rep. Pete Hoekstra said that the Democrats “wanna take your freedoms away.”

Pretty disgusting when they use the Pledge of Allegiance to mock liberals.
Explain to me again how providing health insurance coverage to more Americans is 'the greatest threat to freedom'?????
4000 people doing the bidding of the wealthy insurance lobby and not even knowing it.
Meanwhile 47 million American live without health insurance.
Every advanced nation on Earth had universal health care except the US because of the likes these 4000.
pelzatmah, you can't possibly be that dumb. free people don't depend on the government to live, government works for them! Obviously you have never had to pay taxes. you do understand, someone has to work and give the government their money in order to pay for all this "free' health care, don't you?
"a government that is strong enough to give you everything you want is a government strong enough to take everything you have" Thomas Jefferson
"there comes a point where compassion becomes counter-productive" Ben Franklin
The more dependent people are on a government the more control the government has over the people. This is a fundamental principle that socialist government is based on.
60 minutes reported that Medicare and Medicade lose 60 billion in fraud each year.
The millions that insurance execs make is a pittance.
Why aren't they trying to fix the problem of uninsured with legislation and preventing another 60 billion?
rhonda and the word compassion don't belong on the same post.
Well, Jon-
The government wasn't set up to investigate theft by its' own citizens. Shouldn't they be able to trust people would not want to rip off their fellow countrymen?
So in order to get the fraud under control Congress would have to part with funds to do that. But the Republicans resist.
If only they were clamoring for freedom from the insurance industry.
"The more dependent people are on a government the more control the government has over the people."
I'd much rather be dependent on a elected official than a greedy corporation with no accountability to anything but the bottom line.
"Unregulated Capitalism" does not equal "Democracy" in any stretch of the imagination. It never ceases to amaze me how so many people get suckered into to watered-down, neo-Randian concepts that are completely against their own self-interest.
So, yeah, keep voting against a government that is trying to help you and be unpaid pawns for insurance companies. Just don't go complaining when the greedy company you work for lays you off and you suddenly have to pay $500 a month for health insurance.
spittingoutteeth wrote "I'd much rather be dependent on a elected official than a greedy corporation with no accountability to anything but the bottom line."
Spoken like a true Socialist/Marxist.
What you clearly don't understand is that independent Americans are not dependent on ANYONE, be it government or corporate. Learn the meaning of independence. It is synonymous with freedom.
Dear Rhonda,
Check your sources. Your "Thomas Jefferson" quote is misattributed.
Thanks,
mbgillil
DD3075, I would love to hear you explain to me just how independent you really are. Do you work for anyone? Do you pay taxes? Do you live off the grid? Do you make all of your own tools? Do you grow all of your own vegetables and kill all of your own meat? Do you have a wife or children or friends?
Any reasonable person living in an industrialized first-world nation is "dependent" in one way or another. Otherwise, enjoy living in your Unibomber-esque shanty with just your hate to keep you warm at night.
Oh, and how exactly does believing is representative democracy make me a "socialist"? It's a basic principle that this county was founded on. Apparently you're just an anarchist though, and thus don't care about what this country represents anyhow. Good luck with that one.
I do want the gov't to work for me, not the insurance companies who have sent their legions of lobbyists to Congress to remind them 'who their daddy is'...and I pay plenty of taxes to boot, so I'd like a little to show for it. With the economy being what it is, and health/medical expenses being the #1 reason folks declare bankruptcy, lose jobs, etc., then yes, this is a gov't issue. It doesn't mean we ever abdicate our responsibility to make sure our elected officials are accountable to us, but it does mean that we must demand that they work on our behalves and for our collective benefits, not corporate ones.
Anyone who could look around the US, see medical service tents set up in our biggest cities to offer free medical treatment to treat needy Americans, the working poor, the way that Doctors Without Borders goes out to the neediest elsewhere, cannot be proud of a system that allows Americans to come to that point....
These people are absurd. They're some of the most narcissistic and self-indulgent people on the planet.
Hey DD3075,
Quote "What you clearly don't understand is that independent Americans are not dependent on ANYONE, be it government or corporate. Learn the meaning of independence. It is synonymous with freedom."
We can rely on the fact that you will wave off the fire department when your double wide is burning down, right? If not ... the word's dumbass hypocrite come to mind.
"Americans are not dependent on ANYONE"
You don't have any idea what a real American is. All you have is your own warped definition of "freedom": consume everything that you want until you die, and screw everyone else.
So much of this "independant" American BS is posturing and whining because people want all the advantages of living in a first world country like America but don't want to pay the cover fee (in the form of taxes). If you don't want to be part of a society, fine, I'm sure there's some war-torn African country with a weak government that's ruled by warlords that would be glad to have you (and subsequently kill you and take all your money and possessions because that's what happens when the power balance shifts from governments to unregulated individuals). The government is "us", not "them". Private corporations are "them".
It's unpatriotic to hate your own government, not to mention just plain stupid.
Health insurance on the open market for a male in mid 40's with early heart disease would cost over $1000 monthly, if anyone would take him. Trust me, I know. Congress could start by taking away the anti trust exemption and make it illegal to deny coverage for pre exsisting conditions. Govt. should reform health insurance, not health care. Of the millions who dont have coverage, how many dont want or need it? Let them play russian roulette. For those who want it but cant afford it, work out a program to assist, not GIVE them coverage. I am an Obama supporter but this is much too complicated and giving away coverage is welfare at it's worst. Especially if they intend to subsidize BC/BS, united, Cigna etc...
Why that is akin to 4,000 people who may just as well have been burning the flag.
And Jon Voight lost his conscience along the way.
Since when did the masses become my responsibility? Tell ya what, since the
liberals seem too be the one's screaming about people just droppin dead all over
the place because they can't afford health insurance, why don't you pool your money
together and buy it for them? Better yet, just move em into your home's and take
care of em. It's a win win, the uninsured have health insurance and you can show us
mean people that you don't need us too do what's right.
cbeenthere is just talking to herself.
It wasn't 4,000 people there today it was more like 40,000. The idiot who down played this in this Cheet Sheet thinks we don't have eyes and couldn't find a web site to see if he was lying and of course he was...
Government run health care is a big fat tax increase for those who work... for those who like hand outs, because you are lazy, it's a gift from the Messiah who wants your vote and will make tax payers pay for it and spread the wealth around. Socialized Medicine, Obama is a Socialist people. Welcome to Cuba!
The 20,000 that showed up today as did the 1.2 million on 912 didn't board union buses, town cars, or private jets to get there. they came on there own dime with out any bribe.
They're the part of America that's taking back the country from you nutters.
Taking back America? What do you mean?
Taking it back from the party with a President in power for 20 of the past 29 years?
Or taking it back from the corporate lobbyists that rule with $$?
Taking it back from the Pres. who started two wars, one illegitimately, and who left office with a country very much worse off than when he grabbed power?
Or taking it back from a freely elected individual?
Who are they taking it back from?
How big can the crowd be when the politicians represent 1.5% of the total?
Whoever was leading the Pledge screwed it up. I was there. It was hilarious. But I was the only one laughing.
I just saw on another website a picture of one of the signs. Very scary stuff. It was a poster of a stack of naked, starving bodies from Dachau, Germany, 1945. The poster reads "National Socialist Healthcare, Dachau, Germany 1945". I hope all republican members of congress reject and repudiate this type of reprehensible imagery. Not only is it highly offensive to Jewish people, but it also makes a mockery of the holocaust in Nazi Germany. Where do these people get their twisted ideas? Oh yeah, Glenn Beck and Fake News. This is who the republican party is in bed with. Disgusting.
Hey Nonplussed..... So you were at the rally on the steps of the Capitol at 12o'clock noon (lunch hour) and the time stamped here on your thread is 2:50PM . That means you're probably a government worker ....In other words biyatch, you effin work for me...and you were effin around on MY DIME....From now on eff off on your time...not MINE.
------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------------
yo DeeAmbro..... Don't concern yourself with who's sleepin where in the GOP.... you'd be better served asking yourself, "why is DeeAmbro sleeping single in a double bed ???
Well, if their leader, Boehner, doesn't know the difference between the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, is it surprising that a GOP congressman doesn't know the Pledge of Alliegence.
continues to tickle me how Fox News OWNS the liberal mindset -- when all else fails, blame Fox -- Liberty vs. Tyranny = your choice
Funny, you're the first to mention fox news.
Yes, we might talke away peoples freedom to be slaves to the insurance industry. I can see how that would be unsettling for some.
Yes, i'd much rather have my freedom's taken away by my goverment. That's alot better. We'll show that evil insurance industry. "Oh yeah, my goverment made me a
slave so take that you bad people"
Wonder how many of them know that a socialist wrote the pledge?
Irony? Nope, never heard of it.
The answer is no. They could not give you a coherent definition of capitalism much less socialism. What is a socialist nazior a Nazi communist? The poster during their last teabagging had Obama between Hilter and Stalin. What was he doing trying to initiate a peace conference. The GOP has been dedicated to dumbing down American for the past 30 years. Get a GOP governor and watch him cut funding to school and test score fall.
Youre right, liberals are pretty disgusting, ijust dropped a couple off at the pool.
Whoever wrote this blog is full of crap, there were 30,000 to 40,000 people there today, I saw it on Fox tonight. Government run health care is Obama and the Dems way of controlling people.
Its a way to have people depend on them so in turn you are sooooo thankful, you will VOTE for them... its all in the book "Rules For Radicals" by Saul Alinski, Obamas mentor and His bible...
Similar to all the government hand outs to inner cities and poor neighborhoods, like the ones ACORN signed up to vote for Obama...This web site doent really show how many were really there, but Fox filmed it.
http://gatewaypundit.firstthings.com/2009/11/its-on-and-its-massive-kill -the-bill-rally-in-dc/
"Whoever wrote this blog is full of crap, there were 30,000 to 40,000 people there today, I saw it on Fox tonight."
You know, there is another possible interpretation of that.
no, diamondgirl, you're the one full of crap.
Fox exaggerated by multiplying by 10 just like they did last time. The insurance monopilies are paying the criminal Dick Army bigh bucks to pay these shills to show up but if Dick had to pay for 40,000 it would cut to deep into his profits.
Honchos, when I wrote it I knew everyone would bash it, thats why I wrote it...LOL
Hey, she openly admits to trolling. That's refreshing.
As if.
Here are the true number of how many were there today.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xE6CZe-Ik0
Just a handful of loonies, maybe a few hundred.
oaklynne, your new name should be Mr. Magoo, because his eyesight is as good as yours was..LOL
It's not your pledge. it's for Americans not you nutters
Well, then, for crying out loud, learn how to say it.
cheenthere, what MaliciousDisorder is saying is"shut the fuck up,just shut the fuckup.
Look-
A message from glenbeck.
Gov't wants to take our freedom away, period, they do it for our money, all the money, control, Dems just seem to do it faster!
True, as far as the gov is concerned we are all taxable livestock. They raise us and heard us and then harvest the money. However, I don't know think I agree dems take the money faster. At least they have the pretense of taking it in order to give it back to us in the form of services. The repubs trickle down economics sends the money straight to the rich by definition, there is no hiding it.
I am curious squiggy as to who pays for your healthcare? Are you extremely wealthy or do you have employer coverage? Do you have a clue as to what it costs a family for healthcare insurance these days? A single person pays around $750 a month in California. Families have to pay $1000 or more a month. And the coverage keeps declining with more expensive co pays and larger deductables. And you don't have choice, and you don't have any say about it at all. There is no competition. That is not free - that is surfdom to a corporate lord.
Exactly. Voodoo economics at it's finest.
"At least they have the pretense of taking it in order to give it back to us in the form of services."
Any tyrannical power will always find an excuse tor their tyranny.
We pay taxes, tell me why on earth we shouldn't expect something in return? Affordable healthcare for all is one of the best uses of my tax money I can think of.
maddymappo,
You don't seem to understand why insurance costs are where they are. Use some logic.
Everybody's premiums go into a big bucket. Everyone who has a claim takes money out of that bucket. There has to be enough in the bucket to pay all the claims.
When government got involved, and demanded that insurance companies cover things like hair transplants, chiropractic treatment, viagra, family counseling, and routine doctor visits, then it is no longer insurance. Insurance is intended to cover astronomical and unanticipated costs........catastrophic issues.
There is no other "insurance" where the insurance company has to anticipate claims from every single person they insure, every single year. For instance, you insure yourself, and go to the doctor once a year. The family next door, with 4 kids, take each kid to the doctor at least 3 times a year (3 x 4 = 12) and each parent goes once (2 x 1 = 2). That's a total of 14 visits that your premiums are paying for, and that's for a healthy family. Then we add on for dad's Viagra and hair transplants, mom's obgyn. Now that family has contributed some into the bucket, but not nearly enough to cover what they are taking out.
The family of 10, across the street has no insurance, and every time any of them need a doctor, they go to the ER room, where instead of a $50.00 office visit, the cost is $500.00. The hospital may get $20.00 from the family, but the remaining $480.00 is passed along in the way of increased charges to your insurance company. So you paid $480 each time they needed a doctor. Essentially we reward people who don't have insurance.
Get it? Health insurance has to go back to insuring only catastrophic situations. Government has said that insurance companies must not charge more for people with chronic conditions, so you also support the morbidly obese person with diabetes who goes to the doctor 12-15 times a year, instead of once, like you did.
Since I did many of the statistical studies that looked at the value returned for covering "preventive" services, I can tell you that we did not find sufficient savings. The idea was that if doctors identified someone with high blood pressure, the expense of a heart attack could be avoided.
We are in a situation where health care for all is paid for by the few healthy people who have insurance. That's why your insurance premiums are so high. If your auto insurance paid for fixing the wrecked cars for the uninsured, and paid for everyone's gasoline (regardless how much you used), and paid every time someone's car needed a tune-up or new tires, your auto insurance would skyrocket as well.
We need to address 2 things: 1-limit what health insurance covers, and 2-address the underlying cause of skyrocketing health care costs (like the uninsured and illegals getting free care, and tort reform).
DD3075: With all the blather posted on DB about issues, once in awhile someone like you takes the time to explain the obvious. Thanks for the post............
Hey, squigs, "freedom" as a term is a bit general, so I'm curious. Regarding health care reform, could you tell us what is the specific "freedom", guaranteed by the Constitution, that the Democrats' health care bill will threaten, as Senator Boehner claims.
We all know Bachmann is just talking hard-right popcorn, but which "freedom", specifically, is Boehner referring to? You work in health care, so I'm eager to hear your expert analysis of the honorable Senator's statement. Or are you, inexplicably, just talking hard-right popcorn too?
Why, it's the freedom for the elite to bleed the American middle class dry!
Never underestimate the power of the Republican party to get feeble-minded people to vote against their own interests and spit in the face of those trying to help them out.
People love to throw around the phrase "loss of freedom" without giving valid examples. To me, we have the right of economic freedom and health freedom. If the cost of health care is too high for Americans to afford from insurance companies (which don't really offer health care but rather are toll takers for hospitals and doctors) then I expect the govt to come up with a system, in this case one that creates competition--a free market tenet--and thus lower prices. We all have a right to affordable health care and if the marketplace can't or wont do it, then it's up to the Big Guy (or Gal) on the block to use it's size and clout to come up with an equitable system. Economic freedom and health freedom for all.
Freedom is:
#! Not having your paycheck depleted so others can have "free" healthcare.
DD3075 Finally someone on this site with a brain. Very good analysis.
Hey, Squig, where have you been, and how's Honey?
It is amazing how the liberal Dems who post here think that they're going to fare better with government run programs. If the government gets their foot in the door, taxes will definitely escalate and there will necessarily be rationating. Hell, there's rationing now with insurance companies and that will continue.
There were proposals in the Rep. plan that were good ideas: the health savings accounts, which I and my husband had, large pools for people with pre-existing illnesses, and buying across state lines.
The Republicans have, I think, been asleep at the switch in this matter way too long, and should have done a more complete package than the one they presented.
I agree, they have missed the parade
DD3075
Hey moron you left out the 40 % profit that Insurance companies skim off in your clever analysis of how health insurance works
get a brain
Very astute......NOT.
Kon, prove that
Deambro, I am glad you think so, you can pay my share of taxes, because I dont want to pay for it...
More scare tactics from the republicans..
Good ole pete hoekstra..one of the biggest slime bags ever to come out of the midwest.. I am pretty sure the progressives of Michigan will remember his rallying call when election time comes around again.
And john boehner, he should be glad that they dont do brethalizer testing as you enter the capital building, i am sure he woud flunk it.. I cant remember a sober/coherent statement emanating from his mouth..
Is this all the republicans have to offer......please tell me there is more...
John Boehner is a far greater threat to freedom than the healthcare bill. I just don't know how he can speak with a straight face; I can't believe he actually believes all the crap he spouts. I think the teabaggers have fallen victim to the true meaning of teabagging!
Get out of the gutter, for starters.
hfb, you just like those hand out, cant get enough of them...Let me ask you something since you like the idea of government run health care, would you like to take on the burden of paying for mine, cause I didnt vote for this pin head and he is not my Messiah...
John Boehner hasn't drawn a sober breath in two decades. His brain is so pickled he won't remember having spoke tomorrow.
Pricklypear-
No different than the sex lessons and knowledge of your sex life that you overshare. Ewwww.
And I mean Ewwwwwwwww.
4000 LOL
Let me know when it reaches 75,000 like the recent protest against Obama by the gay community.
this was just a little impromptu get together. Michelle Bachmann mentioned it on Fox and 4000 showed up!
Oh Rhonda the liar strikes again. Bachmann has been ADVERTISING this "impromptu" meeting on FOX NEWS as well as her website and so has other Republicans. We know that you are simply a pathological liar and can't help yourself.
From 3 different sources I've been hearing there were 20,000. Damn good for a totally impromptu demonstration, spread by word of mouth. Damn good.
crybaby, this was discussed for the first time on Friday, and it wasnt 4,000 people it was 40,000 or more.
sonofloud, it was more like 40,000 maybe more, go look it up on You tube today not 4,000 like the pin head said in this cheet sheet.
Thise left wing liberal web sites like to down play anything conservative, it makes them feel better.
welcome to America. you got are attention now
Idiot.
"Our."
And I was just at the rally. It was tiny and pathetic. And full of ignorant fools.
ya i believe ya
NOT TRUE IM SURE
Nonplussed Probably just like you!
Damn you must be a big bitch!!!
In a tiny pathetic way of course.
Nonplussed, you are a LIAR, it wasnt tiny and you are pathetic. Google it. How dumb do you think we are on here, we check facts.
another from glenbeck and he is mad.
How free can you be, if you are paying 50% of your paycheck on healthcare? Do any of these "thousands" of protestors have a clue as to what it costs people who are not covered by their employers? Even those of us who have empoyer contribution plans, are seeing the scope of coverage decline and the prices sky rocket year to year. Does that make me free?
and this bill we make it much more expensive as you will now be picking up the 1 trillion dollar tab to.
didn't the senate finance committee determine that it would save money on the long run? doesn't saved money by govt = less spending= less taxes?
Repeat after me slowly. The bill is budget neutral. It is paid for and according to the CBO will save money over a 10 year period. What about that do you not understand?
maddhatter, so I need to pay more, so the Shlubs on here can sit in their basements in their pajamas and get me to pay for their health care. You all need to get off your big butts and get a job or start your own business, and pay your own way people. No More Hand Out to Shlubs!
I hate to break it you maddhatter, if this bill passes you will be paying a hell of a lot more than you are now.
Michelle Bachmann has been spending too much time at the lake with the Minnesota state bird. The Minnesota state bird is called a "loon."
Not only is she lying, it is revolting how twisted her mind is and how pathetic their attempts are to stop something which frankly is a "moral" goal. Everyone should have healthcare just like they should have safe food and clean water. I don't have a problem with a conservative outlook... but this is beyond conservative. These opinions aren't conservative or even reasonable/logical. Good God I miss the Republicans of ages gone by...
I wonder how these coward would like it if the progressives show up and confront them. Time to get what you wish for.
im pretty sure you and yours have been showing up since the 60s how soon you forget
Huh?? Someone sounds kind of bitter I thought you guys were all high from your sweeping election win, or did you realize it does not mean a thing.
'progressives" HaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHa HaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHa
overrun by 4-5k of protesters?
Perhaps we really should consider
an orderly and transparent transition
to mob rule...
dullard, et al.
Freedom of assembly........That's what I'm talkin' about.
The Constitution of the United States was written with you TYRANTS in mind.
4,000 protesters of which 3,000 are FOX News crews and propaganda experts.
thats week
...as is your illiterate response.
Which week; last week, this week or next week?
awful weak spelling
Actual RNC survey question:
"Should English be the official language of the United States?"
I've taught many ESL classes and judging from the shocking unfamiliarity with their own native language that many of the far right posters exhibit on this site I'm pretty sure that on a head-to-head English test a random sampling of my former students would wipe the floor with a random sampling of people who marked "yes" on that survey.
Youre on dope, probably "obama money"dope but dope just the same.yaaaa dope.
It was closer to 40,000 not 4,000 go look at You Tube
You don't seem to realize that people actually live in WDC, and know from attending events app. how many people are needed to fill up the blocks in front of the Capitol. So who do you think you are kidding when you make foolish statements?
If these people were protesting the actual bankruptcy and looting of our country I would be with them.
But when they supported the looting and two unfinished wars it just makes them seem crazy to be angry.
I wish they would take a look in the mirror and see who the world has been angry at for the last 8 years.
Once again there on the wrong side.
And once again why do i care what the world think's? Is the world paying my bill's? Did the world go too work for me today? Does the world run my house? Here, let me answer those for you....Don't care..No...No... and No.
Why don't we close the foreign aid checkbook for a few year's and i'll bet the world
won't be so angry anymore.
Yes providing a small segment of the population with health insurance while trying to cut costs for everyone is a greater threat to freedom than torture, indefinite detention, extraordinary rendition, warrantless wiretapping and all the other egregious (and REAL) violations of our civil liberties that took place under the Bush administration - which I'm pretty sure falls under the 19 years that Boner has been in Washington.
So .0013% of the US population constitutes a movement? Lawmakers should listen to the furthest furthest furthest right of the far-right? Free speech and right to assemble, yes of course, that's what this country stands for. But this should hardly register as news, and definitely not sway any congressman's vote on healthcare.
haha my math is off by a factor of 100. That should read .000013% of the US population. Also, the AMA and AARP both just endorsed the Democrats' health care plan, they must be in on the conspiracy to take your freedom.
double wow. My math was correct the first time. .0013% (300,000,000x.000013=approximately4,000) But the AMA and AARP both did endorse the health care plan.
Seen that. Wonder what kind of sweetheart deal was made behind closed door's?
Oop's sorry, that's the goverment of old. Forgot Obama was for hope and change.
Here i am thinking he's just another sleazebag politician
the pros are out today on the web
Terribly weak argument.
Even IF all the posters were "pros", so what?
You have ZERO way to authenticate ANYONE'S identity on this board, so why make it an issue?
Instead why don't you present a rational counterpoint? Because that would take a little rational thinking?
Because you don't know what to do with that big bag of radical right talking points taking up all the space in your living room (and your pea brain)?
you are A PRO FOR SURE just wonder what sex? i would say girl. how much do they pay you? its good to see my tax dollars at work insulting me, thanks to your boss at The DNC, oboma is the new slick willy
NYR - you are a total fool. Every time you put yourself in a corner and get called out on it, you result to slurs and slander. That's a pretty stupid way to respond especially on this site because you are NO match for the majority of the posters here. They will chew you up and spit you out as you so richly deserve. Have a nice day.

Hey NY!
Froth much?
Did your psychosis latch onto a cherry, new paranoia?
Have your massive mental powers uncovered a fresh hell of conspiracy?
Maybe we're ALL "professional bloggers"; and we're ALL out to get YOU-regular working stiff, super-normal guy from Cleaverville, Real America, USA!?!
Or maybe you haven't bothered to think through the political slogans of crazy sloshing through all that brain soup?
Are you acting like a dick to compensate for something... ah - lacking?
can this women be commited
Rhonda: Are there no limits to your ignorance. Please stop quoting people from more than 200 years ago. Thomas Jefferson was a slave owner, he wrote those beautiful words but should have included all white men and no women are created equal. Jefferson was a racist who took advantage of people, hardly the hero that I would want anyone to follow.
She used those exact same quotes on another board today.
Idiots need to be taught,teaching is repetition.Go away,go away,go away etc,etc,etc.

Jefferson is one of the wisest of our founding fathers, along with Ben Franklin and Abraham Lincoln.
Explain this for me, liberal schmooze:
When it comes to the positives of this nation -
According to you, we have to ignore, and "stop quoting" our founding fathers from 200 years ago, those with the wisdom and brilliance to found a country whose freedom is the envy of the world, a country upon whom the rest of the world relies to maintain the security of the world, a rich country whose benevolence knows no bounds and is even now being looked to to support, feed, nurse, and grow floundering 3rd world countries.
Yet when it comes to the negatives of this nation -
I'm sure you would not only give permission to, but encourage, any and all to quote whatever they want about something that ocurred over 200 years ago, slavery.
In other words, ignore the 95% good, and acknowledge only the 5% bad.
I will assume you are an American (unlike mcmchugh), although there's no guarantee, and it makes me ask, where did you develop such an off-balance hatred for our country? Do schools teach hate instead of love and pride?
A great number of TDB posters need to work on pride. I can guarantee that if you have no pride in the grander scale of which you are a part (America), you will have difficulty developing any self-pride.
That's a pretty long jump to a far off conclusion.
How does a statement, even if exaggerated, about the fallibility of Jefferson, turn into hatred of America?
America does not need to be manically defended with hyperbolic idolatry. We are not even close to being in a shit-hole deep enough for THAT.
And so the race card is tossed out!! Give it up you pinhead's !! In case you moron's
haven't noticed there's a black guy in the Whitehouse. Guess your gonna have too
harp on something else cause i do believe your race issue is dead!!

Wow.
From the spelling, to the ebonics, to the insane premise.
I'm keeping that little gem.
Racist rhonda is always itching to say what she really means. The girl can't help herself.
"God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. ... And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure."
The preverted wrongness of using that paragraph, is that you are characterizing this administration as tyrannical.
But you still have the right to assemble.
You still have the right to yammer aloud in public.
You still have the right to own and run businesses and property.
You still have a right to an attorney, to a fair trial, to appeals.
You still have a right to educate your children in your own way, and to worship as you please.
You still have the right to free travel and to run for public office.
PLEASE explain, who are the tyrants you need to kill?
What RADICAL change, from the previous administration has you so wound up?
Or are you just indulging in a mucho macho boner thinking about all those colonial bad-asses (in their tights and wigs).
I apologize. I was in class while posting the quote from Jefferson and the professor locked the computers. Apparently it was posted anyways without me being able to finish why I inserted that text. Who the hell is Michelle Bachman and why the hell does she think that quote will help her or her cause? No freedoms are being taken and the ones that should be rising up right now are the underprivileged and misinformed people who cannot afford health insurance.
elcapitan520 wrote: " I was in class while posting the quote from Jefferson and the professor locked the computers."
That explains so much about why people can attend school, and yet get nothing out of it. They'd rather play on posting sites instead of paying attention in class.
God DAMN DD does NOTHING pass by without your sanctimonious judgement?
Well, this does prove the question....Is there anything more stupid than Michele Bachmann?
Answer: Yes. The people that follow her and do what she says.
Brightspot: Apparently not that many people are that stupid. 4k? Puh-lease Bitch! I had more people show up for our Breast Cancer Awareness Walk.
I'm sorry, you got your own question wrong silly !! Anything more stupid than
Michele Bachmann would of course be Obama and his supporters !!
I'm not gonna deduct point's this time but next time i might not be so easy going.
"Bel Airf"; You've obviously been sucking tailpipe fumes - and can't help yourself.
Jane you ignorant SLUT!

The Tea-baggers imply that being without insurance is due to some sort of personal short coming or flaw. If that person had done something different or attended the right church or married the right person, they'd have insurance like all the rest of the upstanding citizens of this country. They need to pull themsleves up by their own catheters and get with the program!
It takes very little for even successful people to suddenly be unemployed, without insurance, and with loads of medical bills. One layoff. One downturn. One accident. Poof! Life will never be the same.
There is something ironically bizarre about living in a country where you have rhe right to tote a gun, but not a right to health care.
Some how, I don't think this is what was meant by "Give me libert, or give me death."
If it passes the healthcare legislation will also torture puppies and spread herpes to senior citizens. And, oh my god, it will turn your children gay!
herpes for the elderly?! I think good sir you'll find you're mistaken; they planned to just kill them all off, or was that breast cancer patients? or maybe even both?
And even worse...it'll have the audacity to provide health care to your gay children instead of yelling that Jesus hates them until they kill themselves.
I sure hope the Republican plan goes through. They're planning to extend Jesus-based-suicide to working women and anyone who drives a Hybrid.
Wow, that got me to actually laugh out loud-thanks!
This script is too much fun. It's either Palin or teabaggers palin or teabaggers palin or teabaggers. palin or Rush and on and on.
Such great a show on these pages.
You always tell us what scares you most.
Spiders. Big ones.
Oh yea those really really big spiders..They scare the shit out of me too!!
Being locked in a room and forced to read Mal's posts. Now THAT'S scary.
The Left is so boring that the liberals at TDB are totally fixated on the Right. Either that, or they are doing their best to put them in a bad light. Every second article is about Rush, Beck ro Palin.
Is there a good light? I'd be interested to see one if there is.
In their heart, they know we're right. BG '64
Michelle Bachmann's "Tea Service" today was a "Reel-to-Reel" movie that was slated to be a "Digital High Definition Disk!"
Along with Ms. Bachmann, some of the more interesting characters were; John Boehner,R-Oh, Shouting, Virginia ("Crazy Lady") Foxx, R-NC, Joe ("You Lie") Wilson and "Babbling" Marsha Blackburn, R-TN.
The event displayed to the public, Republican House Members (Congressmen) who presented themselves "with ONLY "Cliff notes", showing themselves to be inept, lacking 'Original Thought' and having a Total INABILITY TO AD-LIB!!!
By any measure the event was a LOSING, MISERABLE BUST!!!
It appeared as though there were more reporters & cameramen there, than there were "Voter Participants."
Some of the High School "Pep Rally Type Themes" were captured in some of these Un-original quotes; (In addition to some 'questionable' "High 5'ing" & "Hollering & Shouting.) "Tear down this bill"(re-doing the Reagan theme; "Tear down this Wall"), "David & Goliath", "Kill this bill", "Let Texan's run Texas", "America is under attack", "You guy's rock!" and "We're freedom fighters."
Interesting the only "full media coverage" was C-SPAN III. FOX News didn't run it live, OR they didn't see the event as NEWSWORTHY!
bobj72,
Explain for me, please, how the liberals can argue that it's just fine for Obama to be incapable of any speaking without Mr. Teleprompter, and then turn right around and criticize the right for "having a Total INABILITY TO AD-LIB!!!"
Only the right, who received no prep time at all, are the only ones expected to be proficient at extemporaneous speaking? All of the left, regardless of having weeks of prep time, don't have your same requirement?
Why is that?
You might wanna stop pointing out the " INABILITY TO AD-LIB!!!. Do believe when
Obama doesn't have his lifeline telepromter too read, this guy look's and act's
like he's clueless. So you might wanna think thing's out before you post cause this
time, you just threw your lord and savior under the bus
OH MY GAWD, buy a freakin' dictionary, would you? It's painful to see you butcher my native language.
YOU TWO (2) GUYS, accustomed as you are in "Making Excuses" for your Disabled, Politicians who have the Integrity and Honor OF A GNAT. Your "backward-azz" awareness of professional speakers and the technical art of speech - would be aware that ALL PROFESSIONAL SPEAKER; from Media Types to Key Note Speakers COMMONLY utilize Teleprompters. But I am all too aware, that such a Great Technological Break-Through is a "might beyond your comprehension since your Idol GWB failed in his Attempts to Effectively READ THE SCRIPTS "on them dern (sic) thangs (sic!)
SO CANCEL OUT the "Impromptu speaking thing" and concentrate on the more meaningful information that you obviously find objectionable.
And OBTW, if there were 40,000 folks there, there were 4 MILLION. If there were 40,000 there, you can "Bet Yer' Boots" FOX News would have "played it LIVE." And as I stated,
earlier; "I watched the entire event LIVE ON C-SPAN III - AND the Reporters and Cameramen NEARLY OUTNUMBERED the "TeaSackers." The event was a Photo-Op with Microphone Practice for the "Back Bencher" who wear Black Hats. Quite frankly, the entire display was depressing!!!
Nothing to worry about, the government is going broke due to a myriad of Democratic entitlements. The Obama revolution will lose its momentum and we can go back to our capitalist ways. Unfortunately we will have to spend some time cleaning up the mess left behind.
cause what everyone in the world needs is a repeat of the bush jr. years...
Mess left behind by whom??? Oh, right GW and his cronies!!! Were it not for 'entitlements' your grandparents would be out on the streets and/or dead due to lack of affordable healthcare.
Yea, like the Democratic entitlement to send your kid into the desert to be killed or, better yet, gang raped by the contractors that she works with.
Because the Democrats started those wars and populated the scene with private 'contractors'...gotcha!
Yes, let's bring the little shrub back. He'll be the savior of the GOP. I'd LOVE to have a non-thinking, war-mongering, military service-dodging, coke-snorting, alcoholic piss-ant back in charge. It worked out so well the first time.
Thank you.
