Caroline Kennedy's Record Scrutinized
Caroline Kennedy is lobbying New York Governor David Paterson to replace Hillary Clinton in the Senate and her time as fundraiser for the New York City Department of Education is one of the top bullet points on her resume. Politico's Glenn Thrush set out to examine her education record, however, and found that when it comes to policy positions, Kennedy has "hardly left a vapor trail," making it difficult to judge her candidacy based on the issue. The article quotes several former colleagues who say that her fundraising role has been exaggerated as well.

She could have easily kick started the donation process by putting in a seven figure grant to attract other benefactors. But, instead as is typical with these Kennedy's she tried to get others to do the heavy lifting. If she were a Rockefeller, Guiliani or a Bloomberg offspring people would dismiss this stunt as wishful thinking. But, since she's a Kennedy the press treats her as a goddess that has been destined for higher public office because of bloodlines. In the rest of the world people have to earn what they get and don't inherit wealth, power and recognition like CK and her crowd of trust fund babies. Her appointment is a setback for merit based recognition and a throwback to white-based legacy appointments.
